Spring Clean Up on April 8th

The 2017 season is approaching fast . Our spring clean up is scheduled for Saturday April 8th starting at 9am. There will be lots of raking, tree trimming, plumbing, painting, and general clean up work for everyone. Tools will be available but you are encouraged to bring your own.

A lunch will be provided consisting of hotdogs, chips, baked beans, and slaw. Cake or dessert is welcome if you can provide. Please confirm food you plan to bring to myself by phone or email.

After lunch we will have a 30-45 minute seminar to familiarize anyone interested in learning how to assist on the race committee boat. We will review how to set a course, starting sequence, scoring, and safety procedures. This is a great way to learn how you can support sailing at WSC.

Annual OYSTER ROAST

Don’t forget Saturday 10th of December is our annual OYSTER ROAST at Waccamaw Sailing Club!

The event will start at 12 noon and we should be shucking oysters by 1 pm. Bring your oyster knife and favorite beverage for a great afternoon, rain or shine (we’ll just move inside). Cost is $10 per adult, $5 for kids under 16.

Annual Stockholders meeting is Nov 12, 2016

The WSC membership and annual stockholders meeting will be held on November 12, 2016 at 6 PM.

The meeting will be held at Columbus County Arts Council building in downtown Whiteville located at 822 South Madison Street (2 blocks south of the railroad) located across from Sherwin Williams Paint Store.

Dinner will be catered and is likely to cost $12 per person, children $6. Wine and cheese reception is free!

Program may include photoshow of WSC activities and Lake Waccamaw information. Elections of 2017 class of Directors, sailing awards, year in review, and good fellowship is the order of the day.

Come prepared to talk about enticements to greater participation in 2017. The only scheduled item of business is the election of members of the Board Directors.
