DESCRIPTION:As you plan your calendars for the year\, we’d like to make you aware of some additional events of interest. WSC will be participating as the last stop in the “Carolina Series.” This will be a series of six regattas\, each hosted by a participating NC sailing club. Sailors that attend all six regattas will be recognized by their home clubs! This is the first year of the Carolina Series and will be considered a participation series. We hope this will be a great way to encourage more racing in the state and strengthen the NC sailing community.

DESCRIPTION:Come on out to the lake for our raft up. The idea is simple…. meet at the club around noon to discuss a plan (leave a written plan for the latecomers)\, get boats on the water\, take people with you if you are willing\, and meet up somewhere on the lake to anchor for swimming\, snack sharing\, and visiting other boats. \nThis is an informal event that we are hoping to make a first Saturday tradition. \nPlease contact the club if you have any questions.

DESCRIPTION:The 2019 North Carolina Governor’s Cup Regatta will be held at Kerr Lake on June 15th and 16th with a clinic on Friday the 14th. The Notice of Race and registration is available at http://www.regattanetwork.com/event/17492.\n\nBoats will sail as a class if there are five or more boats and the classes with the most boats will be competing for the Governor’s Cup – an overall award given to the sailor that beats the most boats in his / her class.\n\nThe group camping area has been reserved for those wishing to enjoy the fantastic venue that Henderson Point State Park is. Camping is free at the group site. SUMMARY:Pursuit Challenge
DESCRIPTION:We are planning to have a pursuit sail on Saturday afternoon June 29th with Captains meeting starting at 2 pm. We plan to start the slower boats first and followed by the faster boats later. Each boat will get an individual start time to push off from our dock. We plan to do a large triangular course around the lake. Our course around the lake should be without a lot of or any tacking and finish in front of our boat club. First boat starts at 3 PM\, This should be a great sail for our larger Sailboats. We will have our customary pot-luck after the finish\, so come and join us on Saturday\, 29 June.
