Introduction to Racing: Starting Strategies
June 5 @ 11:30 am - 6:00 pm EDT
Join us on Saturday June 5, 2021 for the first installment of : “Introduction to Racing: Starting Strategies”
This is open to all sailors of any ability level. Beginning about 11:30 am we will have an approximately 30 minute “chalk talk” using the whiteboard to explain, the course setup, starting sequence of flags and timing, and rules of right-away.
Then we will set up a starting line and short course upwind mark and go through the starting sequence several times for practice. We plan to have the start line set up about 1:00pm, and plan to leave the course up most of the day. It is not necessary to attend both parts of the seminar. If you already understand the starting sequence and just want the practice, you are welcome.
Although it’s not necessary, to sign up in advance, email carol here to be put on the notification list so we can let you know about time changes, weather delays, etc.
See you there!
