Annual Stockholders meeting is Nov 11, 2017

The WSC membership and annual stockholders meeting will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 6 PM.

The meeting will be held at Columbus County Arts Council building in downtown Whiteville located at 822 South Madison Street (2 blocks south of the railroad) located across from Sherwin Williams Paint Store.

Dinner will be catered and is likely to cost $12 per person, children $3. Wine and cheese reception is free!

Program may include photoshow of WSC activities and sailing information. Elections of 2018 class of Directors, sailing awards, year in review, and good fellowship is the order of the day.

Come prepared to talk about enticements to greater participation in 2018. The only scheduled item of business is the election of members of the Board Directors.

Indian Summer Regatta 2017, October 14-15

The Indian Summer Regatta will be held this year on October 14-15 at Lake Waccamaw, NC. We're looking forward to a great turnout again this year!

There's plenty of space for camping, RV's, hot showers, and a full kitchen at your disposal. Support boats will be on site, and there should be plenty of staff on-hand.

Saturday's dinner is shaping up to be a excellent with the usual southern sides and yummy dessert, and possibly more!

The 2017 Summer Series Club Racing series continues in September... come join us for an afternoon of racing!

Our next club race is scheduled for SATURDAY, September 23. Captain's meeting at 2pm.

As it is every club race, it is our tradition to bring an appetizer to share and whatever beverage you wish. Join us for the fun and a few lies from sailors as to how well they sailed that day! This is a great opportunity to invite potential members to visit.

Tanzer 16 Nationals this weekend (Sep 16-17)... Steak Dinner... Need Volunteers!

Hopefully everyone is safe and sound while Irma graces us with her presence here in North Carolina... soon enough we'll have sunny skies and good weather.

The Tanzer Nationals are being hosted at Waccamaw Sailing Club this weekend (Sep 16-17), and we would love for you to join us for a Steak Dinner (Rib Eye Steak, Baked Potato, and Salad) on Saturday evening after the races.

As always, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We're still looking for volunteers to help with Race Committee and general support during this weekend's Tanzer Nationals event. If you can offer assistance during the Saturday/Sunday event, please contact me at your first convenience.

Waccamaw Sailing Club


Waccamaw Sailing Club Facilities 
Founded in 1970, the Waccamaw Sailing Club is the hub of the lake's sailing activities. Facilities include:

  • Two ramps for launching shallow draft boats, camping facilities, cruiser moorings, a pier, a sandy beach and swim area, a kitchen, shower rooms, decks, and a large pavilion.
  • Club races are held on the 4th Saturday of each month.
  • Facilities are available to host regattas with camping available for regatta sailors. Past classes hosted here include: Tanzer 16, Lightning, Isotope, and San Juan 21.
  • Waccamaw Sailing Club is a member club of the US Sailing Association & SAYRA.
